Learn what goes into growing and arranging beautiful local flowers like Icelandic poppies, ranunculus, Queen Anne's Lace in this informative flower farm tour and flower arranging workshop.

Join Poppymallow Floral Design on Sunday, April 6, 2025 at 10:00 AM for a fun-filled day of exploring the beautiful Grassdale Flower Farm just 18 miles northeast of downtown Austin in the outskirts of Manor, TX, with a Local Flower Farm Tour & Flower Arranging Workshop! You will drive past gorgeous fields of bluebonnets, Indian paintbrushes, winecups (aka poppymallows!), and many other Texas wildflowers on your way to the farm.

This fun in-person event will give you the opportunity to get hands-on experience with different types of local Texas wildflowers (including bluebonnets, sweet peas, snapdragons, godetia, Queen Anne's lace, and lots of spikes and wildflower vibes) and learn the art of local, seasonal flower arranging with Frances from Poppymallow Floral Design.

We will kick off the day with a brief welcome, have a tour of the flower farm, enjoy lunch, and then get a hands on flower arranging workshop with the freshest flowers from the farm. Don't miss out on this unique and educational experience!

"I had a BLAST at Frances's floral workshop last night. I learned so much and I'm super happy with my arrangement. I never really thought about how there was an art and a science to flower arranging – but it actually is a form of design. And a fun one! I want to go buy a bunch of flowers at Trader Joe's and do another one! Frances was a wonderful teacher – she had just the right blend of humor, warmth, instructiveness, and encouragement to everyone. Thank you for connecting us!

I really enjoyed your workshop! I was a little intimidated…..out of my comfort zone, which is good!
Great atmosphere, comfortable vibe, fun and friendly friends!
You are a wonderful teacher. Your enthusiasm is contagious. You were very upbeat, positive, and so knowledgeable!
Learning some mechanics of floral arranging was fascinating.

I loved being a part of it!  You were a great guide and teacher and the flowers you picked were beautiful.

Let’s talk workshop

Do i need to have Floral experience?

Not at all!  This is a beginner workshop.  It's meant to be fun, informative, and inspiring!

Will I need to bring anything?

It's a working farm so I closed toe (comfortable) shoes are required.  I also recommend comfortable clothes, an apron if you don't like getting anything on your clothes, and sunscreen.  I will provide everything you need to make the flower arrangement.

Will the Food be Provided?

Yes, I bring healthy box lunches for all participants along with some snacks and beverages to keep your energy going. You may want to bring a water bottle just in case.  Please let me know if you have any allergies.

How many people will be attending?

A maximum of 15 attendees. This will allow me to give individual training as we work through the value packed agenda.

Can i share photos from the workshop?

Absolutely! The images you collect from our time together are all yours. You can share them on social media, feature them on your website, or message them to your friends.
